Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

This morning, I visited Tritih Lor village, Jeruklegi district, Cilacap regency, Central Java province. I together with Governor of Central Java Pak Ganjar Pranowo, Regent of Cilacap, Minister of the Environment and Forestry, as well as Head of the Peatland and Mangrove Restoration Agency just carried out mangroves planting in this area together with local communities because we need mangrove rehabilitation to restore, preserve mangrove forest area, and also anticipate climate change that is happening to the world.

This mangrove planting is expected to reduce wave energy, protect coastal areas from abrasion, inhibit water intrusion, and improve the coastal environment and the coastal habitats, which we also hope that it will have an impact on increasing fish production and other marine products, especially crabs. We just got two crabs. To that end, we hope this activity can increase the income of the people in the coastal area.

We will continue to carry out mangrove rehabilitation conducted by the Peatland and Mangrove Restoration Agency and Ministry of the Environment and Forestry with the target of 34 thousand hectares of mangrove forests across the country in 2021.

That concludes my remarks.

I thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. (RIF/LW)
