President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
Your Excellencies,

It is such an honor for Indonesia to chair the G20 for the past one year. Our presidency was initiated with a hope of uniting joint purposes in creating an inclusive global recovery from the pandemic. Various emerging challenges are not only hindering the recovery, but also threatening the world toward a deeper crisis.

As this year’s G20 presidency, Indonesia has put a lot of efforts to seek solutions during one year of leadership. Alhamdulillah, today we can adopt and ratify the G20 Leaders’ Declaration. This is the first declaration that can be realized since February 2022.

I would like to express my highest gratitude to all the leaders and delegates in attendance for providing flexibility so the joint declaration could be agreed and ratified. I would also like to offer my highest appreciation to all working groups and engagement groups for their dedication, contribution, thoughts, and contributions to Indonesia’s G20 Presidency. In addition to the declaration, Indonesia’s G20 Presidency also produced concrete deliverables which contained a list of cooperation projects for G20 member states and invitations. The cooperation projects will help bring G20 closer to the people, ensuring that G20 is beneficial not only for its members but also for the world, and especially for developing countries. Let us recover together, recover stronger.

Your Excellencies,

I would also like to congratulate India that will be the successor of the next G20 presidency. The mandate to maintain and create global recovery as well as a strong and inclusive growth is now in the hands of His Excellency Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I believe that under the presidency of Prime Minister Modi, the G20 will continue to move forward. As a friend of India and as part of the troika, next year, Indonesia is ready to support and make India’s G20 presidency successful. I also call on all the attending leaders to support India next year.

To denote the conclusion of Indonesia’s G20 presidency,  I officially hand over the presidency to India as the next G20 presidency. I invite Prime Minister Modi to deliver his remarks.
