Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia during the Inauguration of Beringin Sila Dam Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, December 29, 2022

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,
Beringin Sila Dam is the 35th dam inaugurated in the past eight years. In West Nusa Tenggara province, there are six dams, three of which have been inaugurated. And this is the fourth, while the remaining two will be completed next year.
Beringin Sila Dam is located in Sumbawa regency whose construction uses a budget of Rp1.7 trillion, has an inundation area of 126 hectares, and can irrigate 3,500 hectares of paddy fields.
We expect farmers in Sumbawa regency who used to have one harvest season can have twice or three times.
We hope agricultural productivity in [West] Nusa Tenggara province can increase significantly since we have the dam that spent a significant amount of money. Thus, it must bring something in return to the communities, the province, and the state, particularly for our food and water security.
That concludes my remarks.
