Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia During the Inauguration of Sragen Bulog Rice Mill Center, Sragen Regency, Central Java Province, March 11, 2022

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Good morning,

May peace be upon us,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

All regencies, such as Kebumen regency and Ngawi Regency, have started this year’s harvest season. Therefore, this morning I ordered Head of Bulog (State Logistics Agency) to absorb as much grain as possible from farmers at the GKP (harvested dry unhusked rice) price that will be reformulated and conveyed by Head of the National Food Agency.

We want the farmers’ prices to be reasonable, the prices at the traders are also reasonable, the price for the public should be also reasonable. Everyone should generate profit. Maintaining this balance is not easy. For that reason, this year I have ordered Bulog to absorb 2.4 million tons of farmers’ rice so that it will bring stability to the price of rice.

Second, apart rice mill center in Sragen, Bulog also has six milling centers operating in Subang, Kendal, Karawang, Lampung, Bojonegoro, and Magetan. This will strengthen Bulog’s role in absorbing grain from farmers with a very large capacity.

This concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion.
