Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia During the Launching of Golden Visa Indonesia, at the Grand Ballroom of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Jakarta, July 25, 2024
Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
Good morning,
May prosperity be upon us all,
Om Swastiastu,
Namo Buddhaya,
Greetings of Virtue,
Distinguished Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet,
Distinguished Ambassadors of Friendly Countries,
Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI),
Director General of Immigration,
Entrepreneurs,
Investors,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Today, there are not many countries that post positive economic growth and maintain political stability, with demographic dividend, and abundant natural resources. It means that Indonesia should become a promising investment destination and a destination for global talents. The Golden Visa is expected to generate multiplier effects for the country in terms of capital gain, job opportunities, technology transfer, excellent human capital, and others.
Therefore, today the Government launches the Golden Visa, which aims to facilitate foreigners to invest and work in our country and attract high quality travelers to invest and be productive when they stay here.
Please bear in mind that this is only for high quality travelers so it must be strictly selected by considering their contribution (to our country). Do not let foreigners who could threaten national security or do not provide national benefits to stay.
I also hope that the Golden Visa program can be disseminated immediately through various channels to attract top investors and top global talents. I hope Ambassadors of friendly countries can also disseminate this program to the people in their respective countries so the program will improve economic cooperation and strengthen good relations across the globe.
That concludes my remarks.
By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, today I launch the Golden Visa Indonesia, and I invite foreign citizens to invest and work in Indonesia.
I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
