Ladies and Gentlemen,
As persons with faith, let us all show our gratitude to the Almighty for the blessings, kindness, and peace to all of us, Indonesians. We, as individuals, gather here today to inaugurate TN High School Malang Campus.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
TN High School was established decades ago. It scouts Indonesia’s young generations with high academic performance. They have been nurtured and given the best possible opportunity and education, creating a high-quality young generation.
A nation’s development depends on its capability to master knowledge and technology. Only with those will we achieve a high-level civilization. We will improve people’s welfare and their quality of life. All citizens will live prosperously, no longer poor nor hungry. Therefore, a school like TN High School is very much needed in every nation.
From our observation, in the developed nations, even in the most civilized countries, there are more than 100 high-quality schools in each. Malaysia, for decades, has more than 20 of these typical schools, while England has hundreds of schools. We are determined to excel in science and technology. Therefore, we are developing campuses like TN High School, which we have had since 1990. Yes, in 1990, it was supported by the TNI Commander General TNI L.B. Moerdani, continued by General TNI Try Sutrisno. Since then, the school has been managed well.
Today we have three campuses, Magelang for sure, then Malang, which I inaugurated today, and Cimahi. One location in Nusantara Capital City-IKN, Kalimantan, is also under construction, and other new locations in Minahasa, North Sulawesi and Pagar Alam, South Sumatra, which are expected to be completed and operational in December 2026.
Furthermore, we are also planning to develop 20 new schools of Garuda High School. Our target is that every province has one of either TN High School or Garuda High School. One top-tier school. Also, I have a plan to establish a top-tier integrated school in every city. We wish to build 500 schools in the next four years. I think that is from me.
These top-tier schools are important. I urge leaders to deliver—lead institutions, schools, and most of the alumni. You understand the aim. You understand the philosophy behind the school’s initiation—to create patriotic generations and nationalists, who have the responsibility to become great leaders. We teach them good morals, good personalities, and honesty, to become leaders who are honest, anti-corruption and do their best for the people.
I urge all parties, heads of institutions, leaders of schools, educators who deliver the best education, innovative education with passion to teach and to develop. I believe you will deliver this with high integrity. Since the 1990s, TN alumni have proved themselves with their achievements at the national level. In my cabinet, I mentioned all the TN alumni. I believe TN has first-tier and second-tier alumni. Adding Garuda High School, our plan—one city, one top-tier school—will accelerate the process. We wish for the rising new leadership, rising Indonesian dignity.
We will also renovate other schools. This year, I will renovate 60 thousand schools, etc., we have 300 thousand schools. I hope, in four years, we can renovate all schools and improve their quality in every sector.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Education is the instrument of development. Education is the instrument of welfare. Education is the instrument of democracy. Education and health are the instruments to eliminate poverty.
That concludes my remarks. I am proud to see the achievement.
Therefore, by saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, today, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, inaugurate TN High School Malang Campus. Let us pray to God Almighty for the protection of our journey to develop our nation, an advanced and prosperous one.
Thank you. (RD/MUR)
