Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia on the Commemoration of International Labor Day (Virtually) from Bogor Presidential Palace, May 1, 2023
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
May peace be upon us all.
To all workers and labor throughout Indonesia, I wish you a happy International Labor Day 2023. We must use this momentum to continue to expand employment opportunities, improve the welfare of workers and labor, protect their rights, and increase national productivity and competitiveness.
Efforts to improve the quality of human resources, especially through the development of vocational education must continue to be carried out. Efforts to upskill and reskill workers and workforce must also be carried out through the Pre-Employment program, as well as through work training centers conducted by the Government, community and industry.
For this reason, the Government continues to attract domestic and foreign investment to increase employment opportunities, reduce unemployment, and improve the welfare of workers and labor.
Once again, happy International Labor Day 2023.
I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
