Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Good afternoon,
May peace be upon us all.

Distinguished Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet;
Honorable Ambassador of the Netherlands, His Excellency Lambert Grijns,
Distinguished President and CEO of Wavin Group Mr. Maarten Roef;
Distinguished CEO of Orbia Mr. Sameer Bharadwaj;
Distinguished Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo, Regent of Batang regency;
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen.

All countries, let me repeat it over and over again, are in vulnerable position, difficult position; the world is in tough situation. Food crisis, energy crisis, financial crisis occurred in all states. Investment has been something to fight for. Why? Because an investment will generate value added, job opportunity, state revenue, and foreign exchange reserves.

Years ago, we used to import, right after the Wavin factory is established, the import stopped. Many job opportunities are available in Central Java province in general and in Batang regency in particular.

The Minister informed me that there are ten manufacturers being developed here, including electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturer, the largest glass manufacturer in Southeast Asia, medical device manufacturer, etc. Today is the groundbreaking of Wavin pipe factory which is expected to not only meet domestic demand but also to be exported to Asia Pacific countries, Australia, and European countries. We will continue to encourage investment since it will create more jobs. In addition, the taxes can increase state revenue and gain foreign exchange reserves. The most important thing, it will stimulate economic growth of our country.

Allow me to extend my gratitude to Wavin B.V. and Orbia that have entrusted us, Indonesia. It is not easy to gain trust for an investment. Once a country is labeled as untrusted for investment, nobody wants to come to the country. What will happen? We must import goods.

Although the world is facing financial crisis, Indonesia is still trusted for investment by the world’s major companies. Mr. Sameer has told me that it is because economic and political stabilities in our country are considered good.

That concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I hereby declare the groundbreaking of PT Wavin Manufacturing Indonesia in Batang Integrated Industrial Estate begin.

I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
