Bismillahirrahmanirahim,
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Distinguished Coordinating Minister of Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing;

Distinguished Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Force, Governor of East Java, Mayor of Malang, Regent of Sidoarjo, and Regent of Jombang;

Ladies and Gentlemen.

The issue of waste is a very serious matter. If waste is not properly managed, it will lead to various problems, including social issues, health problems, and can even cause disasters such as environmental pollution, water source contamination, and may even lead to floods.

The waste volume will continue to increase. Thus, proper final disposal site (TPA) equipped with modern waste processing facilities and technology as well as a good waste management and handling system is vital. I understand that waste management is not easy; organizing a single site is difficult, let alone organizing so for a city, a district, a province, or a whole country. Currently, there are many well-operating final disposal site models that can serve as pilot for other cities or regions facing waste issues.

Today, we inaugurate three modern final disposal sites in the East Java Province that will solve the waste problem, namely in Malang city, Sidoarjo regency, and Jombang regency.

Firstly, Supit Urang final disposal site in Malang City. It is built with a budget of Rp237 billion in a 5.2-hectare landfill area with a landfill capacity of 726 thousand cubic meters. It is also equipped with modern waste processing facilities with a waste capacity of up to 450 tons per day.

Secondly, Jabon final disposal site in Sidoarjo regency. It is built with a budget of Rp384 billion, spanning in 29 hectares of landfill area with a capacity of 1,650,000 cubic meters and a waste capacity of up to 450 tons of waste per day.

Thirdly, the Banjardowo final disposal site in Jombang regency. It is built with a budget of Rp203 billion in a 4.45-hectare land area with a waste capacity of 110 tons per day. It is my hope that these three final disposal sites will reduce waste problems and environmental pollution, as well as improve environmental quality, and enhance public health.

That concludes my speech on this auspicious occasion. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I officially inaugurate the Final Disposal Sites of Supit Urang in Malang city, Jabon in Sidoarjo regency, and Banjardowo in Jombang regency in East Java province.

I thank you,
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
