Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
Good afternoon,
May peace be upon us all,

Distinguished Ministers, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), Chief of the National Police, Head of the National Disaster Management Agency, representatives from the friendly nations of Papua New Guinea and Afghanistan,

Ladies and Gentlemen, distinguished guests.

Climate change and global warming have caused weather anomalies which trigger numerous disasters, not only in Indonesia but also in different parts of the world. As we are all aware, a devastating landslide occurred in Enga province in Papua New Guinea. On May 24, October last year, Afghanistan was hit by an earthquake, resulting in many casualties and refugees.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
We have to help our brothers and sisters who are affected by disasters. Therefore, today we will send off the humanitarian assistances for the victims of natural disasters in Papua New Guinea and Afghanistan. The assistance we send to Papua New Guinea worth Rp18 billion consisting of medicines, supplementary food, and hygiene kits. While the assistance for Afghanistan consists of ten items worth Rp17.5 billion. I hope these assistances can ease the burden of our brothers and sisters in Papua New Guinea and Afghanistan and can help them back on their feet as soon as possible.

Lastly, for the delegations who carry out this humanitarian mission, I urge all of you to fulfill your duty with the utmost responsibility, to ensure your own safety while on duty and return to Indonesia in a good health.

That concludes my remarks. By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I dispatch the humanitarian assistances from the Government of Indonesia to Papua New Guinea and Afghanistan.

I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
