RI Tax Amnesty Program, One of the Most Successful Tax Amnesty Programs: President Jokowi

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo expressed his optimism about the success of the Tax Amnesty program.

In a dialog with economists and businessmen at the Merdeka Palace on Thursday (22/9), President Jokowi highlighted the growing trust of the people to the Government that the President considers ‘more important’ than figures that have been obtained.

“Until now, I remain optimistic with this Tax Amnesty program. I am not talking about figures and I have never talked about figures anyway. However, the most important thing is the trust from the people to the Government that is growing,” the President said.

In addition, President Jokowi added that obedience and awareness of the people to pay taxes these days have shown a positive trend.

“To date, the repatriated funds have reached at least Rp33 trillion and more than 90,000 people have taken part in the program,” the President said.

Therefore, President Jokowi considers that the Tax Amnesty program that the Government has implemented is one of the most successful tax amnesty programs in the world.

“I read that the Tax Amnesty program has been well implemented and the declared assetshave reached Rp1.029 trillion. This is one of the most successful tax amnesty programs in the world,” President Jokowi concluded. (BPMI/ES) (EP/YM/Naster)
