Saifullah Yusuf Inaugurated as Social Affairs Minister, Eddy Hartono as Counter-Terrorism Agency Head
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (09/11) at the State Palace inaugurated Syaifullah Yusuf as Minister of Social Affairs and Eddy Hartono as Head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (NCTA) for the remaining 2019-2024 term.
The appointment of Syaifullah Yusuf is based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia No. 102/P of 2024 regarding the appointment of Minister of Social Affairs for the 2019-2024 period within the Indonesia Onward Cabinet.
Eddy Hartono was inaugurated based on Presidential Decree No. 124/TPA of 2024 concerning dismissal and appointment to the top leadership position within the National Counter-Terrorism Agency.
Both presidential decrees were issued on September 10, 2024 by President Joko Widodo.
The decrees were read by Deputy for Apparatus Administration of Ministry of State Secretariat Nanik Purwanti and Deputy for Administration of the Cabinet Secretariat Thanon Aria Dewangga.
Syaifullah Yusuf replaces previous Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, who resigned to participate in the 2024 regional elections, while Eddy Hartono fills the role of Head of the NCTA previously held by Rycko Amelza Dahniel, who has retired.
Following the reading of the decrees, President Jokowi led the oath-taking ceremony for the two newly appointed officials.
“In the name of Allah, I do solemnly swear I will be faithful to the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, 1945 and will execute all laws and regulations as straightly as possible for the service of my country and nation. That in performing my duties, I will uphold the ethics of the office, work to the best of my abilities, and with a full sense of responsibility,” recited President Jokowi, dictating the oath of office.
