Sales Volume during Eid Holidays Increases Significantly, President Jokowi Says

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (05/04) visited Tanah Abang Shopping Center and Sarinah Mall in Central Jakarta to inspect sales volume during Eid Holidays.

According to vendors at Tanah Abang Shopping Center, the profit during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Holidays showed a sharp increase.

“The vendors told me that their sales volume increased by 80 percent. Some vendors experienced an increase of 60 or 50 percent but in general the sales volume has increased,” the President said in a press statement at Sarinah Mall, Jakarta.

He also expressed his appreciation to the vendors while adding that the increase in sales volume is in line with the target set by the Government.

“It’s a good thing that our projection on a hike in money circulation ahead of Eid and during Eid holidays was realized. Based on our estimation, there are Rp230 trillion [money circulated during that period],” he asserted. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RAS/LW)
