Seven New Ambassadors Share Opinion about Indonesia

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, on Thursday (21/10), received Letters of Credence from seven new ambassadors to the Republic of Indonesia, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. The seven new ambassadors will execute their ambassadorial duties in Indonesia under their respective countries’ mandate to enhance bilateral relations among friendly countries.

The newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Hassan, said that since his first visit to Indonesia in 2002, he always likes Indonesia, as well as the food and culture which are similar to that of his country.

Similar statement also echoed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic, Jaroslav Doleček, who loves Indonesian food since his first day in the country 20 days ago. He also affirmed the Czech Republic’s commitment to enhance bilateral relations with Indonesia and said that trade value of both countries as of May 2020 stood at US$146.75.

In the meantime, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India, Manoj Kumar Bharti, said that he applauded Indonesia’s leadership among Southeast Asian countries. He added that Indonesia is India’s closest and most strategic friend and he expressed hope that both countries can strengthen the ties due to the countries’ similarities and potential for cooperation in the near future.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania, Dan Adrian Bălănescu, said that the people is the best thing of Indonesia because they are very friendly. He also expressed optimism that bilateral ties of Indonesia and Romania can be enhanced and affirmed his readiness to support the process.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Fiji, Amenatave Vakasavuwaqa Yauvoli, also shared his experiences during his visit to several regions in Indonesia.

“This is not my first time in Indonesia. I have visited Semarang and Bali. Indonesia is extremely beautiful and the people are kind-hearted,” he said.

Talking about Indonesian people, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan, Kanasugi Kenji, mentioned that Indonesia with its large population has a great potential and looking forward to the enhancement of cooperation.

“I will do my utmost to enhance Indonesia-Japan relations. I really enjoy every minute I spend in Jakarta, including delicious Indonesian food,” he said. (BPMI/UN) (RAS/MMB)
