President and First Lady Iriana Jokowi watched the flower named ‘Dendrobium Iriana Jokowi’, in Singapore, Wednesday (29/7)

Ending a series of state visits to Singapore, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady  Iriana Joko Widodo visited the National Orchid Garden, Singapore Botanical Garden on Wednesday (29/7) morning.

First Lady acquire honor by naming one of the orchids at the National Orchid Garden to ‘Dendrobium Iriana Jokowi’, which is a blend of Dendrobium and Dendrobium Haldis Christabella Morterud.

“It is an honor, orchids in Singapore named Iriana Joko Widodo,” First Lady said.

Responding giving the name, President Jokowi said, this flower diplomacy, so flower serve as a means of friendship.

Dendrobium Iriana Jokowi, is a hybrid Dendrobium flower, robust and free. This flower blooms up straight semi-arched with a size of 5.6 cm. White petals and yellow light brownish while the petals bent tawny to reddish brown. When in bloom, orchid is fitted to a reddish purple color at the edges and a dark purple color at the center.

Accompany the President and the First Lady during the visit were the Coordinating Minister of PMK Puan Maharani, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, and Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) Yuddy Chrisnandi.
