Soekarno-Hatta Airport Partially Closed Until 1 June
The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport will be under “Terminate Operation status from 24 April 2020 to 1 June 2020, state airport company PT Angkasa Pura II reported.
The status means that the Airport does not serve scheduled or unscheduled commercial flight operations to all domestic and international routes.
The policy is in line with Presidential Regulation and Regulation of Minister of Transportation regarding the ban on mudik (annual exodus ahead of Eid al-Fitr). The ban is implemented to break the chain of the coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission.
Senior Manager of Branch Communication & Legal of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch of PT Angkasa Pura II Febri Toga Simatupang said that the airport still serves special flight and air cargo. The Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are closed to the public while the Cargo Terminal is still operating as usual.
The aforementioned special flights include flights for heads of the main institutions of the Republic of Indonesia, state guests/representatives as well as representatives of international organizations.
“We still serve repatriation of Indonesian citizens and foreigners as well as law enforcement operational and emergency services for flight officers,” Febri said.
He also called on all service users or passengers who have purchased tickets to contact the relevant airline to get a refund or change the flight schedule. (PR of Angkasa Pura II/EN)
