President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has ordered Minister of Finance to immediately distribute the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) to the One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) regional offices.

“The DAK can be used to carry out dissemination and improve the internal management system so that the delivery of services to the people can be faster,” President Jokowi said in his opening remarks at the 2020 National Investment Coordination Meeting in Jakarta, Thursday (20/2).

The Head of State has also expressed hope that workers at the PTSP office can be enthusiastic in carrying out their duties.

“I want the PTSP offices to be the first in coming up with ideas in the regions,” he said, adding that the PTSP should also solve the investors’ problems in addition to issuing a business permit.

On that occasion, the President also pointed out that Indonesia’s ranking in ease of doing business had improved 73 from 120 in 2014. “However, we must break into top 40 in the future,” he said.

According to the President, Indonesia’s EODB ranking is still ranked 6th, falling behind other ASEAN countries.

“We are left behind from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Brunei although we fare better than the Philippines, Laos, and Cambodia,” he added.

Furthermore, the President also wanted that the 11 steps of business licensing process can be reduced to just 5 steps so that Indonesia’s EODB ranking can rise to 71st.

The existing 18 procedures of Building Permit (IMB), the President added, must also be cut to 15 procedures and from the previous process in 191 days to just 54 days. (FID/EN)
