State-Owned Enterprises are ready to support the newly launched National Cash Waqf Program, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir has said.

“In accordance with the directive of Vice President, Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and the State- Owned Enterprises are ready to support the cash waqf program,” the Minister said during a meeting with Vice President Ma’ruf Amin in Jakarta, Thursday (28/01).

Erick said that Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises is committed to providing Rp 80 billion of cash waqf as part of efforts to recover the economy affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

In the meantime, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin in his report during the launching of the cash waqf program at the State Palace in Jakarta, Monday (25/01) said that the transformation of cash waqf will achieve the expected target if it can be implemented properly.

“The result is a management that is able to maximally manage cash waqf, optimal investment, and the results of its benefits to support wider social activities. In this situation, the management of national cash waqf will significantly contribute to economic development and increase the welfare of the Indonesian people,” the Vice President said.
