Assalamu’alaikum warrahmatullahi wabarakaatuh,

His Excellency Prime Minister Najib and distinguished Malaysian delegates,

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

Prime Minister Najib and I just had a bilateral talk. It was a very productive and open talk.

During the meeting, Indonesia conveyed three main issues.

The first one pertains to delineation of borders between the two countries. We agreed to further intensify negotiations and meetings on this issue.

The second one is on security cooperation in Sulu Sea and its surrounding areas. Indonesia expressed its concern on the kidnapping and hostage cases in the area. Indonesia also hopes trilateral cooperation between Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia on security measures in Sulu Sea and its surrounding areas can be immediately implemented.

The third one concerns cooperation to protect Indonesian nationals. We stressed the importance of cooperation to protect Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia.

Indonesia also welcomes the signing of two cooperation documents, namely the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) and the ASEAN Banking Integration Framework agreement between the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of the Republic of Indonesia with Bank Negara Malaysia.

And now, I would like to invite His Excellency Prime Minister Najib to give his statement. (Humas Setkab) (EP/YM/Naster)
