Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia at COVID-19 Vaccination for Communities, September 10, 2021, at the Jogja Expo Center, Bantul Regency, The Special Region of Yogyakarta

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Good morning,

May prosperity be upon us.

This morning, I together with Ngarso Dalem (the Sultan) Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta and Regent of Bantul inspect the vaccination carried out for 8,000 people, including persons with disabilities, abdi dalem (royal servants), the elderly, Grab drivers, as well other community members. We hope the vaccination can provide protection, can provide maximum protection to the communities so that we can do our daily activities as usual.

The acceleration of vaccination is very important and we see that more and more people have got vaccinated across Indonesia, so we hope that by the end of this year more than 70 percent of the population will have got vaccinated.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all people for your support for the vaccination. It will provide protection. It will provide protection to all of us because COVID-19 will not completely disappear. The best way to protect ourselves is by getting vaccinated and also implementing strict health protocols.

That concludes my remarks. Once again, I would like to thank Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta and Regent of Bantul for the implementation of the vaccination.
