How is the progress of TMII revitalization, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Yes, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) cultural park was initiated by President Soeharto and First Lady Ibu Tien Soeharto to showcase our unity in diversity and cultural wealth that other countries do not have. Built in 1975, the park has not been massively renovated. The current renovation costs a budget of Rp1.1 trillion.

It is our hope that after the renovation, TMII can be a tourist destination for both domestic and international tourists. I also hope that the admission ticket will not be too costly so everyone can enjoy the park.

Moreover, I noticed that several provincial traditional houses were broken. I have ordered all governors to renovate their traditional houses so that it will have new look. Some of them have renovated their traditional houses and it is expected that renovation of traditional houses can be completed by the end of the year.

Furthermore, I also order the management of the park to regularly organize arts and cultural events, either weekly event or monthly event at traditional houses as well as open stages. Calendar of events must be provided so that good entertainments can be enjoyed by general public, especially children. That concludes my statement.

Regarding health issue, Sir. Monkey pox has been confirmed in Indonesia. Does the Government have measures to prevent it from spreading, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

I have ordered Minister of Health. First, I ordered the Minister to immediately handle vaccination. Second, places with high interaction and entry points in all over Indonesia must be strictly monitored. But we must not panic because the transmission occurs by direct contacts instead of droplets. The most important thing is how we prepare it. You can directly ask Minister of Health.

Journalist

Regarding fuel prices, Sir. Did the Government plan to raise Pertalite gasoline, Sir? Many people, everywhere, are queuing for it, Sir.

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

It concerns the lives of many people. Thus, everything must be decided carefully and calculated the impacts. Do not let the impacts reduce the people’s purchasing power and household consumption. What must be also calculated is high inflation rate and declining economic growth. Everything must be correctly calculated before it is decided. Okay, thank you.
