Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia during the Inspection of the Location of Food Estate in Temanggung Regency, Central Java Province, 14 December 2021
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Today I, along with Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Governor of Central Java, Regent of Temanggung, and farmers, planted shallots in Temanggung regency.
There are 339 hectares of land to be assisted by the Government, by Ministry of Agriculture that we hope the productivity can increase. The most important thing is to prepare the offtakers who will buy the shallots we have planted so there are price and buyer certainties as well as the price will not be manipulated by the middlemen.
It is our hope that better productivity and the Government’s intervention on seeds can increase the farmers’ income. This will be inspected after the harvest. After the harvest we can ensure how many tons [of shallots] in every hectare [of land], how much is the production cost, so it is certain that the farmers gain profits from growing shallots.
That concludes my speech on this auspicious occasion.
I thank you.
Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
