Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Ladies and Gentlemen, My Fellow Citizens,
I would like to extend Marhaban ya Ramadan, welcome to the holy month of Ramadan. Happy fasting during the holy month of Ramadan 1443 Hijri. I ask for your forgiveness physically and emotionally.

Despite the pandemic, alhamdulillah, thanks to the hard work of all elements, the COVID-19 case in Indonesia is under control. Therefore, this year’s Ramadan, Muslims can perform obligatory prayers and tarawih prayers (evening Ramadan prayers) in congregation at the mosque. Ahead of Eid al-Fitr, it is also permissible for you, Ladies and Gentlemen, to go back to your hometown, to gather with your parents, relatives, and beloved families.

However, I need to remind you to follow health protocols in a disciplined manner and also on the importance of vaccination to prevent the COVID-19 spread. So, for those who have not received a full dose of vaccinations or a booster shot, please complete them immediately.

Finally, let’s make Ramadan this year a momentum to improve our faith and piety. Let’s worship in the month of Ramadan. May Allah, the Most Glorified, the Most High, always protect the Indonesian people.

Amin amin ya rabbal ‘alamin.
Wassalam’ualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
