President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

As a country with the largest mangrove forest in the world, namely 3.3 million hectares of mangrove forest, Indonesia wants to contribute to tackling climate change, to solving climate change. And Ngurah Rai Forest Park is an example of a success story, how the 1,300-hectare mangrove forest was planted, restored, maintained. It was a fishpond area, an abraded area. Now it has become a home to 33 species of mangrove, which is also a home to more than 300 faunas, such as fish, prawns, birds, monkeys, snakes. They all can live in the mangrove forest.

Once again, this is Indonesia’s concrete action on climate change. Therefore, I stated that Indonesia calls on the G20 member countries to collaborate, to cooperate in taking a real action in green development, inclusive green economy development. That is all.

Reporter

Sir, could you tell us what the leaders think about it after seeing the forest?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Many of them were surprised that we have done this much. And this is—they said that it is a concrete action because it has a capacity of six million seeds only in one location. I have stated it before. Next year, we will have 33 locations. Five have been finished and the rest is a work in progress. I suppose that is what inspires the leaders. Concrete actions that are taken, both in green energy transition and green economy for tackling climate change.

Reporter

(inaudible)… is there any response?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Oh, someone asked about it. I said that it is a floating solar panel that we placed at several areas of lakes and dams approximately three to four years ago.
