President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (19/04) inspected vaccination for artists and cultural practitioners at the Indonesia National Gallery in Central Jakarta.

On that occasion, the President also urged the public to remain vigilant of transmission risks of COVID-19.

“We must state the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic is real and it is not over in our country. Therefore, we must remain vigilant. We cannot let our guard down. We cannot underestimate COVID-19,” he said, while reminding the public that negligence can lead to a surge in the COVID-19 transmission rate.

“The curve is currently better, declining. We must not let it rise again because we are no longer alert and vigilant,” he said.

For the record, as many as five hundred artists and cultural practitioners from the cities of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi participated in the vaccination.

“This morning, thank God, we gathered here with artists, cultural practitioners, musicians, theater actors, and traditional artists to get vaccinated. We hope everyone here can be protected and will not be exposed to COVID-19 so they can do their activities as per usual,” he said, adding that based on the inspection, the vaccination run smoothly.

The Head of State also expressed hope that the vaccination that the Government continues to carry out can curb the COVID-19 transmission rate.

“We hope that with more people getting a vaccination the COVID-19 transmission rate can decrease,” he said. (FID/UN) (DH/EP)
