President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by a number of Work Cabinet Ministers received the visit of the Minister of National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Xu Shaoshi, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (10/8) afternoon.
Coordinating Minister for Economy, Sofyan Djalil who accompanied President Jokowi said that in the meeting Government of PRC delegation led by Minister of National Development and Reform Commission Xu Shaoshi report the results of feasibility study on Chinese companies on the project of Jakarta – Bandung fast train.
“The Government has accepted the results of the studies and will study as well as decide as soon as possible,” said Sofyan told reporters at a joint press conference with the Minister of National Development and Reform Commission Xu Shaoshi, after a meeting with President Jokowi.
“I’ve met with the Minister of Planning/Head of Bappenas, Minister of SOEs, and Coordinating Minister for Economy, tomorrow I will meet the Vice President and other officials,” Minister of National Development and Reform Commission Xu Shaoshi said.
According to Shaoshi, in the past eight months, the two heads of state, President Jokowi and Chinese President Xi Jinping has done three meetings to increase cooperation. This meeting resulted in several cooperation plans, one of which is Jakarta-Bandung fast train project that the memorandum of understanding has signed in March 2015.
Regarding the fast train from Jakarta to Bandung, according to Xu Shaoshi, will take the path as far as about 150 km from Halim to Bandung, and connected to Gambir Station with existing network, while the station traversed there are 8 (eight) stations, with a cruising speed of about 300 km per hour.
Shaoshi stressed that the price offered by the Government of PRC is a more competitive price with a better proposal. “We guarantee could be completed in three years, ground breaking will be done at the end August 2015 and be completed by the end of 2018,” he said.
As for management, Shaoshi argues, it offers to establish joint company (joint venture) between the state-owned enterprises of Indonesian and Chinese to manage the fast train with Indonesia holds 60 percent while the rest is held by China.
“We want to be serious to share with Indonesia in realizing the fast trains in Indonesia,” Shaoshi said.
Shaoshi believe, in the next five years the Jakarta-Bandung fast trains operation has provide benefits.
