The Government has announced that it allowed schools to conduct limited in-person learning in regencies/municipalities implementing public activity restrictions (PPKM) Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3.

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said that in-person learning is allowed if students and teachers have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

“Three to four weeks later, they must receive the second dose,” the President said in a video conference during the inspection of COVID-19 vaccination for students, at State Junior High School SMPN 1 Tarakan, North Kalimantan, Tuesday (19/10).

On that occasion, he also talked with participants of vaccination drive in 10 other schools through video conference.

The students told President Jokowi that they are glad to finally join limited in-person learning. They also expressed gratitude to the Government for its mass COVID-19 vaccination drive.

The Head of State reminded students to maintain discipline by adhering to health protocols to ensure the safety aspect of in-person learning.
