All taxpayers must comply with tax-payment and file their annual tax returns immediately as a form of mutual cooperation that will benefit the people, according to Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.

“Let us join hands to improve tax compliance in our country,” the Vice President said.

The Vice President went on to say that tax compliance is crucial to boost national economic recovery.

“As we’re all aware that taxes serve as a source of state revenue to accelerate the country’s economic recovery,” he said.

The Vice President also reiterated that taxes are a manifestation of the presence of the state in providing protection to the people.

“Our taxes aim to finance the COVID-19 vaccination program, provide subsidies, Village Funds, and to provide a sense of security to all Indonesian people,” he stressed.

On that occasion, the Vice President also urged taxpayers to file their annual tax returns immediately prior to the filing deadline.

Moreover, the Vice President said that Ministry of Finance’s Directorate General of Taxation has offered various facilities for taxpayers in reporting annual tax return.

“Now, we don’t have to go to the tax office to report our tax returns,” he remarked. (Office of Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media Affairs of the Vice Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RIF/MUR)
