Thai PM Anutin Charnvirakul Arrives in Jakarta for Official Visit

Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand Anutin Charnvirakul arrived in Jakarta on Monday (08/03) for an official visit to Indonesia.

The aircraft carrying the Prime Minister and his delegation landed at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at 16:05 Western Indonesian Time.

Upon arrival at the Base, the Prime Minister was welcomed by Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Thailand Hari Prabowo, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Indonesia Prapan Disyatat, Thailand’s Defence Attaché to Indonesia Sittirat Pusongchai, and Commander of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base Air Commodore Ali Gusman.

Immediately after disembarking from the aircraft, the Prime Minister received a state welcoming ceremony conducted by the guard of honor. During the ceremony, the military band performed instrumental music, while a cannon salute was fired as a mark of respect for the Prime Minister.

The welcoming ceremony was further enlivened by a traditional Indonesian dance performance before the Prime Minister boarded his VVIP vehicle. The cultural performance served as a gesture of respect and reflected Indonesia’s warm hospitality in welcoming the distinguished guest.

Afterward, the Prime Minister and the delegation proceeded to the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. At the palace, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with President Prabowo Subianto to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Thailand across various sectors, as well as strategic issues of mutual interest.

The Prime Minister’s official visit is expected to further strengthen the longstanding friendship between Indonesia and Thailand while reinforcing the partnership between the two countries in addressing shared challenges and opportunities at both the regional and global levels.
