Thousands of Indonesian Citizens in the US Enthusiastic Dialogue with President Jokowi

Indonesian citizens in the US are very enthusiastic in welcoming the visit of President Jokowi. They do not hesitate to scrambling for Selfi, at Wisma Tilden, Washington DC, Sunday (21/10) afternoon.

After resting a while at Blair House, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by First Lady Iriana directly following the first agenda of the working visit to the United States (US), which is meet with Indonesian citizens and diaspora in the US.

Jokowi President and First Lady arrived at the guesthouse Tilden, Wisma Indonesia’s Ambassador in the US, Washington DC, Sunday (25/10) at around 15:40 local time or 2:40 pm. President come and say hello to the people who waited for his arrival, and was immediately greeted enthusiastically by the public. Some people even invited the president to selfie.

On that occasion, President Jokowi wearing a black brown batik, while Lady Iriana wearing red kebaya.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (LBBP) RI for the US, Bowoleksono Budi said that the Embassy has opened registration for the 1250 Indonesian citizens in the US to attend the meeting with the President Jokowi.

“But it turns out the people who came over from the register,” said the Ambassador in portray the enthusiasm of the Indonesian community in the US to meet the President and First Lady, who come from various states of “the farthest are from California,” Budi Bowoleksono said while mentioning, Indonesian citizens who come from 24 states in the US.

Present at the meeting between Indonesian citizens with President Jokowi among other Coordinating Minister of Economy Darmin Nasution, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Communication and Information Rudiantara, Ministry of Trade Thomas Lembong, Chief Staff of the President Teten Masduki, Head of BIN Sutiyoso, and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said.
