TNI Members Winning Asian Games Medals to Get Extraordinary Promotion

Members of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) personnel who won medals at the recently concluded Asian Games will receive an extraordinary rank promotion, according to Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto

“We will accelerate the promotion of those who earned medals (gold, silver, bronze) in the Asian Games,” Hadi said to reporters at Bogor Presidential Palace on Friday (7/9).

He also expressed hopes that this reward will motivate other TNI members to excel in various fields. “Once again, I would like to thank my personnel for their outstanding achievement both in national and world level,” Hadi added.

Hadi went on to say that there are eight personnel who won medals in various sport branches competed in the Asian Games, including wrestling, karate, rowing, and paragliding.

He added that the TNI holds rank promotion twice a year, in October and April and TNI member gold medalist will be promoted in October this year.  In the meantime, silver medalist will be promoted in April next year and bronze medalist will be promoted in October next year.
