TNI, Polri Ready to Support Implementation of New Normal Protocols

The Indonesia Defense Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) have expressed readiness to support implementation of the new normal protocols.

Both institutions have also announced they have deployed their personnel to help the Government disseminate the new normal protocols and to remind the public to follow the health protocol on a daily basis.

“The TNI and the Polri personnel will continue to remind the public to follow the health protocol in order to remain safe from COVID-19,” said Commander of the TNI Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto at Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java province, Sunday (7/6).

According to Hadi, the TNI and the Polri have jointly deployed personnel in a number of red zones in four provinces and 25 districts / cities.

In addition, Hadi pointed out that the TNI and Polri personnel have also been deployed in 102 regencies / cities categorized as green zone areas to continue reminding the public to implement the health protocol in an orderly manner.

In the meantime, Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Idham Azis reiterated that the key for to be productive and safe from COVID-19 is to uphold discipline in following the Government’s health protocol.

The TNI and the Indonesian National Police, he added, will also deploy more personnel to 138 districts / cities categorized as yellow zone areas.

“The Government continues to urge the people to follow the health protocol in an orderly manner to prevent ourselves from COVID-19 threat,” he said. (BPMI/EN)
