Towards Ramadan AH 1446, President Prabowo Outlines Gov’t Strategic Measures

President Prabowo Subianto arrived at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, Friday (02/28), after delivering a keynote address at the Closing Ceremony of the 2025 Regional Heads’ Retreat.

Upon arrival, the President immediately convened a limited cabinet meeting with his cabinet members in the waiting room to discuss the government’s strategic measures ahead of the holy month of Ramadan AH 1446.

In his statement following the meeting, the President emphasized that the Government had taken courses of action to ensure price stability and the availability of essential commodities during Ramadan. The Head of State has also instructed relevant authorities to monitor price equilibrium in the market.

“We must work hard to ensure that all citizens, especially those in the greatest need, can afford essential commodities. I am confident that we will achieve this, and we have already begun taking the necessary actions,” he stated.

The Government is also implementing effective measures to prevent speculators from exploiting Ramadan to do price manipulation. In the transportation sector, the President affirmed that the Government remains committed to ensuring a smooth flow of mudik (the mass homecoming exodus).

“The Minister of Transportation, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, the Minister of Public Works, and all relevant ministers will continue to monitor the situation and ensure that all transportation facilities and public services operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently to facilitate mudik,” the President added.

According to the President, among the strategic measures being prepared is the reduction of airfare prices in the next two weeks.

Additionally, toll road fares on several key routes will be discounted ahead of the Eid ul-Fitr and Nyepi holidays.

“We are also preparing for a reduction in airfare prices over the next two weeks, as well as toll fee reductions on several main road sections during the Eid ul-Fitr and Nyepi holidays, which this year fall in close succession,” he concluded. (BPMI of the Presidential Secretariat) (AY/TM)
