Two Newly-Inaugurated Ministers Have Excellent Track Records, President Jokowi Says

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (06/15) officially inaugurated Zulkifli Hasan as Minister of Trade, replacing Muhammad Lutfi; and Hadi Tjahjanto as Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (BPN), replacing Sofyan Djalil.

On that occasion, President Jokowi revealed that the appointment of both ministers is based on a number of aspects, including track record, experiences, and managerial skills to face and resolve problems in detail.

One of crucial obstacles in trade sector is fulfilling people’s basic needs. In order to resolve problems in this sector, experienced person is needed to directly inspect on the ground, according to the President. To that end, he appointed Zulkifli Hasan as Minister of Trade.

In a meantime, President Jokowi went on to say that land disputes and the issuance of land certificate are also problems that must be resolved. It is required to appoint experienced person who has knowledge on Indonesian territory. Thus, former Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Commander Hadi Tjahjanto was inaugurated as Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the BPN. (TGH/UN) (AP/MUR)
