Two Patients Tested Positive for Covid-19 Show Signs of Recovery, Hospital Says

Two patients tested positive for Covid-19 are in stable conditions and show good improvements,  President Director of Sulianti Saroso Infectious Diseases Hospital  Mohammad Syahril has said.

“The first patient did indeed get a referral from a private hospital and was treated there for 5 days with high fever, cough, runny nose, and shortness of breath, as well as a rather weak body. The patient was referred to Sulianti Saroso Hospital on 3 March at 3,” Syahril said during a press conference, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Friday (6/3).

After a laboratory examination, he stated, the patient,  as announced by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, tested positive for Covid-19.

The second patient, he added, is the mother of the patient 1. On the second day, she still had a fever as well as cough. “But, alhamdulillah, thank God, on the third, fourth, and today the sixth day, generally, the condition was good, they can communicate with their relatives through their phones,” he explained.

Today, he went on to say, both patients have a little bit of difficulty in breathing, minimal cough, but are no longer feverish.

Both patients, Syahril said, are able to feed themselves, change their clothes, go to the bathroom without assistance. The patients’ vital, he added, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and body temperature is normal.

“These indicators become a parameter for all of us that, God willing, these two patients will recover,” he concluded. (FID/EN)
