Two Years into President Prabowo’s Administration, Investment Reaches Rp3,923.2 Trillion, Creating 5.48 Million Jobs

The Government has recorded that total investment realization during the first two years of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration has reached Rp3,923.2 trillion, generating 5,485,944 jobs.
“This represents the investment realization achieved during the first two years of President Prabowo’s administration. We began our calculations in the fourth quarter of 2024, covering the fourth quarter of 2024, the full year of 2025, and the period from the first until the third quarter of 2026,” Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani said in a press statement at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (10/19).
According to the Minister, investment realization outside Java accounted for a larger share of the national total than that within Java. Investment realized outside Java reached Rp2,031 trillion, accounting for 51.8 percent of the national total, while that within Java amounted to Rp1,892.2 trillion, or 48.2 percent.
“In more detail between domestic and foreign investment, domestic investment accounted for 50.9 percent, or Rp1,998.7 trillion, while foreign direct investment (FDI) accounted for 49.1 percent, or Rp1,924.5 trillion,” he said.
Furthermore, Rosan stated that the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas has set an investment requirement of Rp13,032.8 trillion by 2029, adding that this level of investment is intended to support the national economic growth target of 8 percent by 2029.
“Thankfully, the targets set by Bappenas and entrusted to the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry have been met thus far,” he said.
Looking ahead, the Government will continue to improve investment quality by strengthening the business climate, accelerating downstreaming, and promoting national industrialization.
On that occasion, Rosan underscored the importance of proactively pursuing investment opportunities while listening to input from business players to ensure that incoming investments further strengthen domestic industries.
“Ultimately, we must take the initiative by reaching out and listening to feedback to improve the investment and industrial climate. We aim to make incoming investment boost industrialization, with downstreaming as a key component,” the Minister remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (SA/TM)
