UAE President Welcomes President Jokowi at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Int’l Airport
Following an 8.5-hour flight from Indonesia, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (16/07) arrived at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at 06:30 p.m local time.
The President received a special welcome from President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) of UAE by shaking hands under the steps of Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft.
Along the road from the airport to the hotel, the flag pennants of Indonesia and UAE enlivened the welcome of President Jokowi’s visit.
During his state visit to the UAE, the President is scheduled to have a meeting with President MBZ in Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (17/07) to enhance cooperations between the two countries, particularly in the sectors of economy and investment.
In his press statement in Jakarta before heading for UAE, the President reiterated that relations between Indonesia and UAE had grown rapidly in the last decade.
The close tie of both countries was reflected by the President MBZ’s direct welcome at the airport.
Recalling the visit to Indonesia on Wednesday (24/07/2019), President Jokowi also welcomed MBZ as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates,at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
It was the second time for President Jokowi to welcome state guest directly.
