UAE Will be Market the Rifle SS2 Pindad Products into Middle East

Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has agreed to cooperate in the license of SS2 rifles and ammunition Pindad marketing in the Middle East region. This Agreement set out in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PT. Pindad (Persero) and Continental Aviation Services, which is done when a business forum attended by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on Sunday (13/9) local time.

Communication Team of President, Ari Dwipayana in a press release on Monday (14/9) states, the presence of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) into UAE get a warm welcome from the local government. The warmth was shown in a bilateral meeting held in a friendly atmosphere.

“The meeting discussed on several things, about the economic and non-economic issues, such as defense cooperation,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi said, as quoted by the Communications Team President.

According to the Foreign Minister, the UAE is a country of Indonesia’s main export destination in the Middle East, with trade value reached 4.25 billion US dollars in 2014, and Indonesia received 748 million US dollars surplus.

In the investment sector, the UAE has the potential of sovereign wealth funds which large enough. UAE is one of the big investors from the Middle East into Indonesia, besides doing the investment portfolio, as well as direct investments with the value Foreign Investment amounted to 25.365 million US dollars in 2014.

As one of the concrete results of the visit, Minister Foreign Affairs of Indonesia and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE have signed MoU Cooperation in Combating Human Trafficking and Protection of the Affected of Human Trafficking between Indonesia and the UAE.

“The MoU agreed on cooperation in law enforcement to prevent the human trafficking through early detection, investigation and prosecution,” Foreign Minister said, as quoted by the Communications Team of President.

In addition, the MoU also agreed on cooperation in conducting protection, rehabilitation and assistance, including repatriation to the affected of human trafficking.

According to the Foreign Minister of Indonesia, the government is trying to make the UAE as a communicator for the entry of products from Indonesia to the Middle East, because the airports and ports are managed in a modern way.  (ES)/Sy.
