The United Emirates Arab (UEA) has named a main street in capital Abu Dhabi after President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo as an honor for the President’s role for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

The inauguration of the street was conducted by Chairman Abu Dhabi Executive Office Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Monday (19/10).

“This is a token of appreciation and honor not only for me personally, but also for Indonesia,” the President said through his personal Facebook account @Jokowi, Tuesday (20/10).

The President also explained that the naming of President Joko Widodo for the road that divides the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center area with the Embassy Area which is occupied by a number of Diplomatic Representative Offices demonstrates a close relationship between the two countries.

“It also shows hope that the relationship between the two countries can be stronger, mutually reinforcing, and beneficial for the peoples of the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia,” he added. (UN)
