Vice President Jusuf Kalla Attends the 74th UN General Assembly

Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla representing President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo attended the 74th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, United States (US), which will be opened on Tuesday (24/9).

Jusuf Kalla and his entourage arrived at the New York Westin Hotel on Saturday (21/9) at 8:20 p.m. local time. He welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan, and Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Mahendra Siregar.

This year’s UN General Assembly which entitled “Galvanizing Multilateral Efforts for Poverty Eradication, Quality Education, Climate Action, and Inclusion” was attended by 193 UN member states, 100 Heads of State, 3 Vice Presidents, 47 Prime Ministers, 36 Ministers, and 2 Chairman of Delegation.

Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said that Kalla was slated to attend 25 meetings during the event.
