Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration has announced its commitment to support the micro-based enforcement of public activity restrictions (PPKM) on 9-22 February 2021.

Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Abdul Halim Iskandar said that the micro-based PPKM will be enforced at the village level. For this reason, the Ministry has provided clear directions for village-level enforcement, including the obligations that must be carried out by the village and the utilization of the Village Fund.

“This is as stated in the Ministerial Instruction Number 1 of 2021, all of which is an affirmation of Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Regulations Number 13 of 2020 on Priority for the Use of Village Funds,” the Minister said during a virtual press conference on micro-based PPKM enforcement, Monday (08/02).

The essence of the Instruction, the Minister further stated, is to order that all activities related to micro-based PPKM must be fully supported by the village. He mentioned some examples such as 24 hours village guard posts, disinfection, provision of isolation rooms.

“In fact, all activities, which are now a follow-up to the Instruction of Minister of Home Affairs, have been carried out by the village, formerly called Relawan Desa Lawan COVID-19 (the Village Volunteer Against COVID-19),” he added.

The Minister also said that the Village Fund must be used to support all programs established by the Government for the success of micro-based PPKM at the village level. “The Ministry will continue to monitor its implementation at the village level in accordance with its authority,” he said.

He expressed hope that optimal implementation can be carried out at the village level due to the village’s experience in village-level management.(PR of Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration/UN) (FI/LW)
