Visiting West Kalimantan, President Jokowi Will Launch Great Mosque of Pontianak and Review the Border Area

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by First Lady Iriana, starting on Tuesday (20/1) morning until Wednesday (21/1), will conduct a working visit to West Kalimantan.

A series of events have been scheduled in the first visit of President Jokowi to West Kalimantan, including the inauguration of the Grand Mosque (Masjid Raya) of Mujahidin, Pontianak, and the launching of the construction of Feroseme Irrigation in Landak District, as well as review and dialogue with residents in border areas in West Kalimantan.

1.800 Police Personnel  

In order to secure a series of events that will be conducted by President Jokowi, Regional Police (Polda) West Kalimantan will deploy of 1.800 police personnel, as well as coordination with the Regional Military Command (Kodam) XII Tanjungpura ranks.

“At least 1.800 police personnel will be deployed. All the activities of security will be carried out in a coordinated manner with Kodam XII Tanjungpura and other relevant institutions, ” said Brigadier General Arief Sulistyanto, Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) of West Kalimantan, in Pontianak, Monday (19/1).

Thousands of police were scattered in the respective locations whiach will be visited by the President, among others, Pontianak city, Landak District, Kubu Raya District, Sanggau, precisely on the border of Entikong, Sambas and the last is Kapuas Hulu.

“Rehearsal clean had been conducted, began from road safety, up to the location of the destination and lodging. Essentially, we along with other institutions are ready to secure and welcome the arrival of the president, “said Arief.

Jokowi President and his entourage are scheduled to depart from Halim Airport, Jakarta, on Tuesday (20/1) this morning, at 07.30 am, and arrived at the airport Supadio, Pontianak at 09.00 WITA. (Humas Setkab/ES)
