In response to an issue of voted ballots for the presidential candidate pair number 01 Jokowi-Ma’ruf found in Malaysia, Ministry of Home Affairs urged the public to wait for the official information from the General Elections Committee (KPU).

“We are still awaiting an explanation from the KPU team who are still investigating the matter,” Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo said.

He also asked the public to remain calm while waiting for the investigation results of the KPU team to reveal the truth of the incident.

“We hope the public can stay alert in responding information that is often misleading and also not to create any speculation. The Government fully trusts the KPU to hold a thorough investigation,” said Tjahjo.

The Minister also stated that he fully supports the KPU to hold fair and free elections, including giving full authority for the Committee without any interventions. (PR of Ministry of Home Affairs / EN)
