VP Extends Condolences over the Demise of Kiai Dimyati Rois

Indonesian nation is, once again, in mourn for the demise of K.H. Dimyati Rois, one of prominent Islamic leaders, who passed away on Friday (06/10) at 01.13 Western Indonesian Time at Tlogorejo Hospital, Semarang city, Central Java province.

Upon hearing the news, the Vice President Ma’ruf Amin extends his deepest condolences. According to Vice President, Kiai Dimyati is a charismatic scholar who has contributed to make santris have excellent and competitive qualities.

“As an Advisor of Islamic organization Nahdlatul Ulama and one of the nine members of the board  who has the authority to appoint and terminate the chairman (AHWA), we know Mbah Dim as a charismatic Islamic scholar. In the sphere of Islamic boarding school, he has contributed to make many santris have excellent and competitive qualities,” Vice President expressed.

With his deeds, Vice President said, Kiai Dimyati has made the santris empowered to contribute to national development.

“May Allah Swt grant the late K.H. Dimyati Rois the best place, and may his family and the big family of Nahdlatul Ulama have patience to bear this loss,” Vice President prayed.

For information, K.H. Dimyati Rois was an educator at Al-Fadlu wal Fadhilah Islamic Boarding School in Jagalan subdistrict, Kaliwungu district, Kendal regency, Central Java province. Kiai Dimyati was born in Bulakamba district, Brebes regency, on 5 June 1945. After completing his education at Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School, Kediri regency, East Java province, he also studied at Apik Islamic Boarding School, Kaliwungu district, Kendal regency, for more than ten years.

In 2021, at the 34th Nahdlatul Ulama Conference in Lampung, Kiai Dimyati was elected as one of nine members of AHWA. He even got the major vote with 503 votes.
