VP Gets Second Jab of COVID-19 Vaccine
Before the vaccination, the Vice President went through the entire series of vaccinations without any problems, starting from registering, carrying out temperature and health checks, getting vaccine injection, and waiting for 30-minute post-vaccination observation period.
In the first stage of vaccination, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin said he did not experience any side effects from the vaccination, while urging the public, especially the elderly, not to hesitate to vaccinate against COVID-19.
“In order to build herd immunity or community immunity, 70 percent of total population in Indonesia must get vaccinated,” he said, adding that vaccination for all citizens is still mandatory to avoid COVID-19.
For the record, the CoronaVac vaccine produced by Sinovac has obtained an emergency use authorization (EUA), an official permit from The Indonesian Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) to be used for the elderly aged 60 years and older.
With this EUA, the Vice President, who belongs to the elderly group, can receive vaccinations in order to support the Government’s effort to build herd immunity or community immunity. (Press Bureau of Vice President Secretariat/UN) (AP/EP)
