Through social protection program, the beneficiaries will receive social assistance from the Government, while through community empowerment program, people will be involved in the development.
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin further said that COVID-19 pandemic has brought impact on health, economic, and social sectors. Thus, the Government intensified social protection program as its effort to help people affected by COVID-19 pandemic.
On that occasion, the Vice President added that in a bid to optimize national economic recovery, the Government continued its measures to coordinate with ministries/agencies so that social assistance distribution will be on target.
Furthermore, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin emphasized that national economy is currently still at the recovery stage so that it is important to support MSMEs through various assistances and incentives.
“Our MSMEs must be supported through assistances, tax incentives, as well as social assistance for micro entrepreneurs. All must be encouraged and [national economy] now rebuilds,” he remarked. (BPMI of Vice President’s Secretariat) (AP/LW)
