In a bid to achieve herd immunity, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin Monday (03/14) ordered relevant elements to bolster COVID-19 vaccination efforts for all people in various age ranges.

“The Vice President orders all agencies, including the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Minister of Health, and all stakeholders to intensify vaccination efforts,” said Vice President’s Special Staff for Communications and Information as well as Vice President’s Spokesperson Masduki Baidlowi after accompanying the Vice President in a limited meeting.

Disinformation on expired vaccines, he said, has hindered the vaccination efforts. For this reason, the Vice President ordered relevant stakeholders to educate the public so that vaccination efforts can be more intensified, especially in regions with slow vaccination drive.

“It is necessary to intensify vaccination efforts, especially in regions where the vaccination level is still low,” Masduki said.

On in-person learning policy for school children, the Vice President underscored that the policy is still in effect in accordance with Joint Decree of Four Ministers which regulates in-person learning. “There are some parents who have not allowed [in-person learning], they are worried, it needs dissemination,” he said.
