VP Urges Open University to Continue Improving Quality, Innovation

The Open University should continue to improve quality and create innovation in producing graduates who can face various challenges and grab any opportunities in changing times, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin has said.

“I call on the Open University to continue improving its quality and innovation in following the advances in information technology and to establish cooperation and collaboration with the business sector and industry, research institutions, and other universities in preparing superior human resources in the 4.0 era that are globally competitive with the national characters,” Ma’ruf said at the 37th Anniversary of the Open University, Saturday (4/9).

On that occasion, Ma’ruf also expressed appreciation to the university which has consistently provided affordable and flexible higher education services for people throughout the country for almost four decades.

“Let me express a high appreciation to the Open University as a pioneer in distance learning at the higher level,” he said.

The Vice President also urged the entire Open University academic community to work together with the public and the Government to accelerate the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to boost the national economic recovery for a better Indonesia.

“Congratulations on the 37th Anniversary. Always be at the forefront of distance learning innovation. Happy birthday to Open University. Keep doing real work in realizing a resilient Indonesia, an advancing Indonesia,” he remarked. (Vice President Secretariat/UN) (EST/EP)
