Cisumdawu (Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan) toll road that is targeted to be completed this December will contribute to the acceleration of economic growth of its surrounding area, according to Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil.

The Governor made the statement while speaking to the press with Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi after attending a limited meeting on the development of Kertajati Airport area at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday (29/03) afternoon.

“God willing, I am optimistic that after Cisumdawu (toll road) is completed in December, the airport and the area around it will develop rapidly and contribute to Rebana (Cirebon-Patimban-Kertajati) Region. God willing, in 2022 there will be an extraordinary growth,” he said in a video uploaded on the YouTube channel of Cabinet Secretariat.

Furthermore, Ridwan stated that the Regional Government of West Java is currently developing Rebana, a metropolitan region that will bring 13 new industrial cities, including transforming Patimban Village into a maritime city and Kertajati Sub-District into an aerocity.

The Governor also expressed hope that the Central Government will support the development of Rebana, particularly in terms of infrastructure construction.

“The President agreed. We will follow up through Presidential Regulation on West Java Development Acceleration as the legal basis of the Central Government to intervene with the infrastructure in the area,” he said while expressing optimism that the area will contribute to the national economic growth in the future.

“We have calculated it. If all goes well, Rebana metropolitan as the region’s machine will contribute one percent to the economic growth of Indonesia in the next ten years,” he remarked. (DND/UN) (DH/MMB)
