Wants Faster Than 3 Years, President Jokowi Will Monitor the Construction of Palembang Toll

President Jokowi gives a speech at the groundbreaking for the construction of Palembang – Indralaya toll road, in Ogan Ilir.

After finishing the groundbreaking for the construction of the Trans Sumatra toll road in Sabahbalau, South Lampung, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) immediately went to the village of Great Ibul III, Ogan Ilir, Palembang, South Sumatra, on Thursday (30/4) noon, to conduct groundbreaking for the construction of the Trans Sumatra highway Palembang – Indralaya (Palindra) lane.

The Palindra tolls along of 22 km was divided into three sessions. Session I, along of 10 kilometers of KTM – Indralaya Rambutan. Session II, Pemulutan – KTM Rambutan along of 5 kilometers, and Session III, Palembang-Pemulutan along of 7 kilometers.

President Jokowi in his speech promised will continuously monitor the construction of the Palindra toll road. “I’ll stay tuned. If possible, the completion could be faster than three years. Because I asked, how many days the completion? Not how many years,” he said.

According to the President, the constructions of major projects in Indonesia are often hampered by land acquisition. He argues, in almost every place that development are plagued by land acquisition. However, President Jokowi advised, lest the interests of millions people defeated by personal or group interests.

In the implementation of groundbreaking for the construction of Palindra toll road, were present among others, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of SOE Rini Soemarno, and Governor of South Sumatra Alex Noerdin.

After inaugurating of groundbreaking for the construction of Palindra toll road, President Jokowi and the entourage went to Ngawi, East Java, in order to inaugurating the Accelerated the Development of Solo – Ngawi lane toll road and Groundbreaking of Ngawi – Kertosono toll road (*/ES)
